Babu Owino to lead Candle Lighting in Memory of Raila Odinga.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is set to lead a candle-lighting ceremony at Jacaranda Grounds in memory of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the country marks one year since his death.

The event is expected to bring together members of the public to commemorate the former opposition leader and reflect on his political career and contribution to Kenya.

Babu announced the planned gathering in a statement, urging Kenyans to turn up for the afternoon ceremony at the Embakasi East venue.

According to Babu, Jacaranda Grounds was selected because of its historical connection to Raila’s political activities and the strong memories the venue holds for his supporters.

The MP described the grounds as a place closely associated with Raila’s political journey and the causes he championed throughout his career.

The candle-lighting ceremony will form part of activities being held to mark the first anniversary of Raila’s death and celebrate his life and legacy.

Babu has called on Kenyans to attend the gathering as the country remembers Raila and reflects on his years in public service and politics.
